Niecie - Peace Of My Mind
FUNKY BLUES diva Niecie, was born and raised in the Motor City, and says she "has soul running through her veins". A seasoned veteran, she cites her diverse influences as Koko Taylor, Janis Joplin, Humble Pie, Grand Funk Railroad and Bad Company.
Niecie spent a number of years singing backup to various R and B and soul artists like Angela Bofill, Phyllis Hyman, Lisa Stansfield, Aretha Franklin, Patty LaBelle and Gladys Knight.
Niecie just recently released PEACE OF MY MIND, her debut CD on Signature Records. Recorded in Nashville and produced by Nioshi Jackson, the CD also features blues guitarist Larry McCray and Johnny Neel from The Allman Brothers and Government Mule.
One critic raved that "Her thunderous voice mirrors Etta James and Big Mama Thornton". My favorite tracks are "Bed of Lies", "Working Hard to Please", "I Need a Man" and "Shut Your Mouth". Good stuff, indeed.
